Elimika Kenya Initiative

.................................................................................................................................................................

              A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

The  Elimika Kenya initiative is an education initiative in Mwea constituency. It’s a long term project and its effects will be long lasting in the community. The major beneficiaries of the project  will be the poor living in Mwea constituency.

Mwea Constituency where the project will be implemented, is a semi arid area. This is an area characterized by harsh climatic conditions, severe droughts and erratic rain patterns. This area is occupied by the very poor who have no other options. Economic research and survey done indicate that these people live below the poverty line. The school drop out cases are very high leading to an alarming level of illiteracy.Due to objective poverty levels many children don't complete primary level of education; there go to work in the field at meager wages.

The 8.4.4 system of education in Kenya is free for all school going children but the poor in the area cannot meet the schools financial requirement such as buying the school uniforms and personal upkeep. This initiative is designed to promote literacy level and equip the beneficiaries with relevant skills that will enable them to start income generating projects.

Our Goal.
Transforming society through education for financial stability.
